Broken Nail Repair using Light Cured Acrylic

Below are some before and after pictures of what can be done to repair a painful broken toenail.

Whilst this could be considered a cosmetic treatment, in the case of this patient her nail bed was quite uncomfortable and she was unable to swim without it 'flapping' in the water which was preventing her enjoyment of her sport.

This process is acheived using a light cured acrylic especially formulated for use on feet.  The nail has a similar texture and flexibility to normal nail which prevents undue stress on the nail bed.  Hand acrylics should never be used on feet because they are too hard and can cause painful damage to the nail bed.

This process can be used on permanently damaged nails to achieve a short term cosmetic correction - this might be ideal for the summer months for example if a person wished to conceal an unattractive nail whilst wearing sandals or for a holiday or special occasion.
